How-To: Turn off notifications for Malwarebytes Premium for Windows

Notifications can be distracting from your work or create a disturbing experience. Some of these notifications may not be necessary to the user, and they can be turned off.

Malwarebytes categorizes notifications as either non-critical or critical. Most critical notifications cannot be turned off, but we understand if a user does not want to receive pop-ups that are purely informative.

Critical notifications include warnings when Real-Time Protection is off, for example. A non-critical notification will inform you of smaller items, such as when a task is complete.

To disable non-critical notifications:

  • Go to Settings
  • Click the Applications tab
  • Scroll down to Notifications
  • Click or slide the toggle to OFF

Note : Critical notifications cannot be disabled, excluding Real-Time Protection reminders.

Or change how quickly notifications close:

If you choose to leave notifications enabled, you can select the amount of time the notifications remain displayed on your screen.

  • Click on the drop down menu next to Close notifications after:
  • Select the number of seconds desired.
